Scrim is a low cost reinforcing fabric made from continuous filament yarn in an open-mesh construction. Laid scrim is a manufacturing process that chemically bonds nonwoven yarns. The chemical coating, can be engineered to meet specific customer needs. And its binders can be designed to act as an adhesive, add flame retardant, water resistance, etc.

Laid Scrim is an essential component used by customers in the construction, industrial and composite markets in order to provide:
- Dimensional stability   - Tensile strength
- Tear resistance   - Fire and water resistance
- Anti-microbial properties

Fiber Types
Fibers typically used are:
- Fiberglass (22 tex - 330 tex)
- Polyester (44 dtex - 2200 dtex)
- Other synthetic polymer fibers, natural fibers and high modulus yarns can be processed.
